03th March 2015 : The Cluster

Work in progress - At the moment

As a reminder, this association of companies has been created to support the leadership of Rosé wines in Provence. Indeed, the Rosé de Provence is currently in top position, and it has been a real success in the last decade. However, a harsh competition is currently developing. If we want to keep this leadership, we will have to react both on the techniques and communication to anticipate any possible consequences. Two interesting regions which can be highlighted:The Beaujolais region which focuses its efforts on the "Beaujolais Nouveau” and which has been resting on its laurels without anticipating its downfall. Nowadays, a second trade union has even been created to only represent the great wines that want to dissociate themselves from the "Beaujolais Nouveau” because of current situation.Conversely the Champagne region has managed to establish its own identity. Actually, everybody considers that the Champagne wine is produced in the Champagne region. There is a market for the sparkling wines from other regions but the actual champagne wine can only be produced in the Champagne region. The whole region supports the production of Champagne wines, and each inhabitant truly identifies themselves with the product, and knows how to speak about it. Following the open forum last December 12th on the topic "Which projects can we elaborate together to develop the leadership of rosé wines in Provence” five working groups have been created to deal with these following themes:-"Improving and regulating the yield of the vines for the rosé wine of Provence and anticipating the climate change” led by Christophe Pennequin,-"The preservation of rosé wines and the reduction of SO2” led by Philippe Brel,-"Promoting the wine industry to a younger public” led by Murielle Lemoine,-"How to encourage our region to support its rosé wine as a product it can be proud of” led by Laurence Berlemont,If you are interested in the Cluster's approach and if you feel particularly concerned by one of the projects mentioned above, feel free to join this group by contacting Ms. Charlène JANIN at (Tel : +33.4.94.59.12.96) or (Mail : c.janin@cabagronomie.fr).
